Phuket shows: Simon Cabaret, FantaSea or Siam Niramit — which to choose in 2026

June 3, 20255 min read

Phuket has three large evening shows, and each markets itself as the "best." We've worked with tourists for years and have seen their reactions after all three. Here is an honest comparison — no advertising.

Simon Cabaret — our favourite

The ladyboy show in Patong is the island's most-visited entertainment for good reason. Three performances daily (18:00, 19:30, 21:30), around 100 performers, productions on a par with Broadway musicals. Costumes, lighting, synchronisation — all at the highest level. There is nothing crude here — it is beauty and craft.

After the show you can photograph with the performers at the exit — a tradition tourists love. Tickets from 800 THB. Book ahead — the middle rows sell out quickly.

Phuket FantaSea

A large themed entertainment park with dining and the headline show "Kingdom of the Elephants" — live elephants on stage, fireworks, circus acts. The format is family-oriented, designed for children and first-time visitors to Thai entertainment.

Pros: spectacular, kids love it, decent buffet. Cons: far from the action (Kamala, 30 min from Patong), expensive (from 1,900 THB without dinner), the show runs 75 minutes and the rest of the evening is spent in the exit traffic. Verdict: take it if you're with children aged 5–12.

"Simon Cabaret is a show you want to see again. FantaSea is a show you want to take your kids to. These are different objectives."

Siam Niramit Phuket

A cultural-historical show about Thailand — 3,000 years of history in one performance. Enormous stage, 150 performers, live elephants and horses, four-storey sets. Technically the island's most spectacular show. Tickets from 1,800 THB. Does not run every day — check the schedule.

For whom: tourists genuinely interested in Thai culture and history rather than pure entertainment.

Quick comparison
